Curtis) from Bernina - Tauranga Sewing Centre who as been teaching
Bernina sewing club for 25yrs, will be running this class at
TIRAU QUILT COTTAGE for 2 hrs every
month. Come along for learning and fun. Not just for Bernina owners,
OPEN TO EVERYONE. 9.30am -
11.30am Tuesdays. March 23, April 20, May 25, June 22, July 20, Aug 24,
Sept 21, Oct 26 & Nov 30.
$60 fee for the year and you will receive booklets and
handouts.

COTTAGE QUILTERS.
We are a small group of quilters who meet in the Tirau Quilt
Cottage workshop on the 1st Tuesday of every month - between
10am - 4pm. This is an informal group who bring along their
own work to do, either by hand or with their own machine.

and we'd love you to join us.

#313 - Tranquil Landscape
Cost: $78.00
Saturday 9.30am-4pm
Tutor:
Lois Wine is well-known throughout the area for her stunning
silk paintings and quilts. She is an award-winning artist of
mixed medium and has been teaching silk painting all around
New Zealand for over 10 years. She has a natural talent for
colour co-ordinating.
Workshop:
Silk painting for beginners. Would suit the very beginner
even if you have never painted before you will take home a
picture to frame from this fun class.
After you have acquired the basic techniques here, you may
choose to book into the more advanced class 410 Poppies on
Silk.
Materials:
Silk and paint provided but you will be asked to bring some
basic equipment – details on ticketing. |

Tutor:

This workshop is aimed at an advanced level – for those who
have done the beginners course (313), or who have had
experience in this medium.
Advanced skills will be taught to create a vibrant poppy
painting that you will take home to frame.

environmentally-friendly and safe, hardening solution.

Your Own Designer Scarf

Tutor:
Colleen Small has been teaching sewing for over 20 years.
Through out that time she has acquired a vast knowledge of
sewing, patchwork and quilting.
Workshop:
Using fixed fibres i.e. wool, ribbons, yarns etc. to design
and create your own elegant scarf. Using the ‘wash away’
technique you will create your own simply stunning scarf as
a day or evening fashion accessory.
For beginners (over 14 years old) with basic sewing machine
skills.
Materials: Participants will need to bring their own
sewing machine.

Tutor:
Alison Lesley is well-known artist with many talents and
has been teaching felting for over three years. She has
an amazing natural flair for colour co-ordinating.
Workshop:
Learn the basic technique of felting, create you own
ornamental square suitable for a cushion or a bag.
We then go on to a more complex creation, either a
molded hat or a molded bag – your choice.
Experience the wonders of working with wool in this
creative class. Fun and easy to do.
Materials:
Materials provided, but you will be asked to bring some
aids (bubble wrap and towels) – details on

Make your own
embellished, stunning Christmas stocking to cherish

Tutor:
Colleen Small has been teaching patchwork and quilting
classes for 20 years. She has a vast knowledge on all
quilting related subjects and an easy and relaxed method
of teaching.
Workshop:
During this workshop you will make your own placemats.
These stunning, yet simple designs will enhance any
dinner table. This is a good beginners introduction to
patchwork and quilting. Participants must have basic
sewing machine skills.
Materials:
Kits will be supplied for four placements, with an extra
four prints to use later.
There is a choice of
two designs.
You will need to bring your
own sewing machine and kit.
